Taiwan Trip

Hello earthlings! As you see, this is my third time in Taiwan. Back then i was too young and i could not retrieve any memories. At the age of 6-10 i'm still very innocent and i can't recall anything about taiwan at all. Fortunately, i'm still in contact with my Taiwan friend, Kelly and her brother who was always tagging along. We met at the tender age of 6-7?(if im not mistaken) but she's 7 years older than me lol. Our parents are close friend so i dont see any problem for me to travel there with my cousin. Right now, I'm back from my 6-days-backpack-travelling-trip with my cousin, Darwin. I've never seen him so eager to be on plane before as this is his first time travelling to overseas. So where do i begin my trip at?

This sort of sums up my trip. Dont worry, I'll definitely upload more pictures to entertain ya'll!
There's too much to talk about so i'm just gonna upload some photos. Sorry I couldn't upload everything cuz most of the pictures taken are in my phone and the pictures you're about to see below is in my cousin's camera.

By the time we reached Taiwan, its already 10.30+ pm. The flight suppose to land at 8.10pm but due to some delays and bad weather condition, we landed at 10pm++ 游阿姨 and her son welcomed us whole heartily. I havent seen his son for 6 years and now he's all grown up into an adult. I rmb the last time i met 游阿姨 was few months back. She was in malaysia for some business thingy.

After claiming our luggage and all, she brought us to supper! This place is called 快炒 and i've got to admit the service is super duper fast! Its like we've just order for about 5 mins and the dish is already served lol. How i wish the service was this quick in malaysia too.

Day 2, Taipei City

The next day, Kelly and her brother went to work. It doesn't surprised me that both of them work for their mum. So 游阿姨 brought us for breakfast. This is 刮包. It's something like steamed mantou with pork meats and crushed peanuts filling. I also had Hot Soy Milk together with this and it was satisfying. Let me highlight something, in Taiwan, Soy Milk is really popular. You can get them anywhere, especially in the morning. Its sort of like included in their breakfast.

Did i mentioned that they live in 桃园? Which is 30 mins driving distance away from both Taipei City and the Airport. So after we get everything planned and settled, we head to our first destination, Taipei 101. So our lunch incudes 卤肉饭,米粉,水饺,Ou Ah Chian, fried bean curd skin, fried smelly tofu & i dont rmb lol.

Day 3, 九份.

It was pouring cats and dogs. The rain pelted my skin and I could hardly see way in front of me so we quickened our pace to reach the idk-what-you-call-that-street lol.
Fish balls or should i say colourful fish balls? This small dish is very popular in 九份, Taiwan. Brace yourself to wait under the pouring rain as the number of diners greatly outnumbered the number of seats available.

I believe everyone know that this is called mochi? It has different kinds of flavours available and you get to pick the one you desire! I personally like red bean a lot. I want to eat less red bean, but my insides turn to jelly whenever i see an red bean mochi or anything with red bean. Sigh, i might as well just give up lol.

Okay, so i was passing by the edge of the street where you will need to make either a left/right turn and i saw this. The queue was damn long. I REPEAT, SO DAMN FREAKING LONG and since we aren't rushing so we decided to queue up. After approximately 10-15 minutes of waiting, its finally our turn! This is Grilled Wild Mushroom and is suitable for vegetarian. After the first morsel, i already think its awesome! I even finish licking the last gravy off cuz its was too good.

Ermmmmm, i would never seem to understand whats all the hype about. There were a bunch of crazy peoples crazily eating this erm snail? Maybe im quite the picky person so i kinda pick what to eat and what to not eat at times. lol.

Me & 游阿姨. She's my mom's best friend. I am very grateful that despite how busy her schedule is, she still manages to spare her time to bring us around.

What you're about to see now is the hand-making of Yam Soft Cake and Sweet Potato Soft Cake.

We were having a hard time locating this place. But luckily the food isn't disappointing.

The 4th day, 宜兰

宜兰 is well known for their 葱油饼 & 肉羹面 & 肉卷 & 牛乳饼 & 凤梨饼 & so on. Besides, majority of you people say 九份 serves the best 卤肉饭. I'm terribly sorry to say, no its not. 宜兰 basically serves the best 卤肉饭! Their 卤肉饭 is just mouthgasm! I could even smell the aroma across the streets sometimes.

The Great 葱油饼. Thumbs up for this! A must-try!

Me and Kelly!

铁路便当 was scrumptious. Kelly highly recommended this and if you're a big eater im absolutely sure you will love it because the portion size for a person there is equivalent to the portion size for two person in malaysia lol.

Before we knew it, the last day has came

From upper left to lower right
卤肉饭, 肉羹汤, 肉羹面, 肉卷. This is our breakfast of that particular day. After we wolfed down our breakfast, we headed to our final destination in Taiwan, which is 西门町!It had been quite an adventurous day, with us strolling around that area.

Me and Darwin in 西门町.

Since its the last day, we decided to chill in a cafe. Kelly brought us to one cafe that stands out the most in Taiwan, Dazzling Cafe. The cafe was cosy, giving the place a really relaxing ambiance.
After skimming through the menu, Dazzling Cafe has quite a wide range of chocolate selection, and we had trouble picking what we wanted because all of them seems so appetizing! Too bad I was pretty excited at that moment and forgotten to take pictures of the menu. Anyway, i kinda think its a bad habit to take pictures of every meal you eat lol. Dont be like me, im embarrassing.

I guess this is the dish that caught every customer's attention. The amount of cocoa powder was really generous.

and this too. Dazzing Cafe's Signature dish. It literally fills with butter bread and cream cheese inside! I enjoyed this dish alot.

Our dinner that day consist of different kinds of 水饺. One bite and im hooked! IT WAS DELICIOUS!

It somehow saddens me and darwin a little as we were going to leave Taiwan. Within this 6 days, we(4 of us) spent time together with each other like brothers and sisters. I could feel the strong bonds developing between us. They were genuinely sweet and caring. Gonna definitely miss them a lot.

okay. i guess thats all for today. more pictures to be uploaded soon!
